What makes a place unique? Sometimes it’s an obvious answer, but oftentimes it takes more digging. When I travel, this is the question that guides my mindset; as soon as I step off the plane, I go into explorer mode. The new country is a mystery and I’m the detective who wants to unearth its secrets. What does the food taste like? How will my brain adapt to the barrage of completely foreign stimuli – the language, the social customs, even breathing in the air. It’s all a great big unknown, yet that is what makes traveling so exciting, and quite frankly, addicting.

Another joy of exploring the world is returning to a beloved place for a second, or even third time. On this trip, I was lucky enough to revisit three of the cities, while adding three entirely new destinations to my passport.

So until the next voyage, these photos will serve as a reminder of how incredible our world really is, and motivate me to get back out there.
